Day 100 - Class Divisions

Today in WHAP we took a clicker quiz and some notes.

First things first, this is day 100 of WHAP Jack, so self-pat on the back for this one. I never really envisioned myself as a blogger, but this ended up working out pretty well for me and easily became a part of my daily routine. To 100 more (morel like 50 more).

Don't forget that Donahue is our sub for next week. Seems like next week in class will be WHAP, but without the AP. So just WH.

Anyways, we took a clicker quiz over the French Revolution. This didn't count as a grade, but what I took away from it was that the French Revolution was more revolutionary than the American Revolution, because in the French Revolution they wanted to change a lot more than the Americans did.

We then moved onto a real clicker quiz, which was a grade. I'll be honest here, I watched the wrong CC video on this one so I'll claim credit for not getting the class bonus (even though I wasn't the only one). Shout out to Will Florer for telling me in the review time that 90% of the population of Haiti were slaves. The whole Haiti revolution spoke volumes about the number of slaves being used, as the plantation owners were described as scared of the slaves, because they knew that in their huge numbers that if the slaves really assembled, they would easily beat them, which is what eventually happened.

We then moved on to talking about subjects like Feudalism, which has the traits of a fragmented and decentralized society. This relates to what we are talking about in that this was Europe back in the third period, as Europe was divided into a bunch of different areas. Continuing this logic, we know that eventually through events such as Black death, 100 years war, and the marriage of Ferdinand and Isabel effected the politics/demographics of Europe. This change, from my understanding, let to the absolute Monarchy, where one person has ABSOLUTE control over everything, which is about where we are right now in history.

Mr. Profitt then mentioned how Nationalism and Patriotism aren't the same things, as patriotism is pride in your nationalism. Kinda off topic, but I'm sure it will make more sense later.

With that, the bell rang and we were dismissed. Until tomorrow, and keep it 100!!
